# About My name is Youness Id Bakkasse, born in 1998. Blanklob is the name I write under. It is not a person, it is just where I put my thinking out loud. I came up through tech. I studied physics for a few years after college, did a short stint in astrophysics, and then left it for software, where I have spent most of my working life since. These days I run a small software company, and around it I build smaller things on my own, this site among them. I would rather make something than be seen making it. I am slow on purpose, and I like staying with an idea longer than is useful. I try to be present for whatever is in front of me. I am a big fan of stories, anime especially, and the films and [books](/shelf) I keep coming back to, including the ones outside my usual taste. When something stops earning its place, I let it go, because a light mind is worth more to me than a full one. Most of what I understand I [learned](/philosophy) by living it, usually the long way around, and I am not done. Under all of it, I am grateful: for my family, for the calm, for the time, for getting to build a life that feels like mine. This site is where I keep what is worth keeping, and what I am in the middle of right [now](/now). If a little of it is useful to someone else, even better.
